EMPOWERS at Mexico's World Water Forum

Under the thematic component of "Water and Sanitation for All", two of our EMPOWERS colleagues, Fadi Shraideh and Sameeh Nueimat from Jordan, will participate in the 'Capacity Development and Empowerment' session by presenting a case study and a video on EMPOWERS approaches and work.

The session's objective is to raise awareness and identify critical points for empowerment as a crucial part of capacity development. Also inclusion of marginalised groups, equity, comunity participation and representation are key issues to be addressed. EMPOWERS presentation on "Stakeholders Dialoque for better water resources management" present EMPOWERS approach that is built around increasing the participation of the different stakeholders through a process mobilizing stakeholders around the identification of water issues, problem analysis, visioning, water resource assessment, building scenarios, developing strategies and implementing pilot projects to develop and test those scenarios. This will result in practical decision support procedures that both officials and end-users can use to deal with wise use and management of water resources, now and in the future.
